Welcome to
Thorne Brothers at Lilac Golf Course!
(A Thorne Family Golf Course)

We would like to introduce you to our 'new' name . . . . Thorne Brothers at Lilac Golf Course.  As many of you know, many ideas have been considered and we had input from quite a few of you concerning a name change here at the golf course we bought in April of 2008.  While everything was considered, we finally decided that many of your were right in encouraging us to get the Lilac name back into the course.  Several factors came into our decision.

First and foremost, we believe as many of you do, that Sam and Alec Lilac should be given credit for building this course.  It's seen a lot over the years and had many changes from various owners since the brothers initially sold the course, but they designed it and deserve the honor of the name.

Second, many times we have heard golfers talking to friends as they travel through the clubhouse and most of the time, the friends didn't seem to know where Wyndridge Oaks was.  The thing that we heard most was, "It's the old Lilac, come on out."  That gave us good reason to bring Lilac back into the name.  How can people find us if they can't remember the name?

The course is still owned by William and Daniel Thorne of Thorne Hills Golf Course and the brothers have no intention of going anywhere.  Continued improvements are in the works and planned for the upcoming season.  We have appreciated hearing the wonderful things you have all had to say about the things we've already done and hope that you will continue to be pleased with the changes coming your way (like this website, which is much more informational and hopefully user friendly).

We hope to see you throughout our upcoming 2009 season which will officially begin April 1, 2009.  We will still be around on warmer days and most Sundays through March  . . . so just give us a call if we have mild weather.  Chances are that you'll find someone manning the clubhouse for you.
